Knee Walker Rentals
When you cannot put weight on your leg or foot, then getting around is going to be impossible. Crutches are a common mobility aid that allow you to get back on your feet quickly after an injury or surgery, however they can often cause additional problems or even injuries. Knee walkers are a modern, more comfortable alternative to crutches that will get you moving and keep your life going! Thankfully, you can rent one of these amazing devices from us at Freedom Mobility whether you live in Hanover, Owings Mills, Westminster, Towson, or anywhere else in Central Maryland.
Crutches Can Cause More Problems
For people who struggle with balance issues, crutches can present a major problem. Even when they are adjusted properly, crutches can be unwieldy and lead to falls even for patients who don’t usually have balance problems. Crutches can also place undue pressure on the hands, arms, and shoulders of the patient using them. Though this may not be a major issue for people with strong, able bodies, anyone who has problems with strength may find crutches to be very difficult to maneuver. Not to mention the fact that crutches are often difficult to transport in vehicles due to their size. Thankfully, the modern solution for your mobility needs is here.
Knee Walkers are Simple and Effective
Knee Walkers present a pad for you to rest your injured leg while you propel yourself with your good leg. The structure offers stability with four wheels and a brake. The brake can be engaged in the same way as a bicycle brake for simple use. Not only that, but your knee walker requires little to no effort to propel. Depending on your comfort levels, you can actually get around pretty quickly on a knee walker without taxing your upper body. When you come to a stop, your upper body will be completely free to move as you wish. There’s even a little basket on the front for holding a few essentials.
