Climbing up and down the stairs is not only exhausting, but can also be dangerous for someone with poor muscle control or slow reaction time. Prevent slips and falls on the stairs by installing one of our state-of-the-art Maryland stairlifts.
Slipping and falling down the stairs is a real risk for anyone, especially seniors, but it doesn’t mean you have to move your bedroom to the first floor and never go upstairs again! Maryland stairlifts are the perfect, affordable solution for those with mobility issues in Annapolis, Towson, Owings Mills, Glen Burnie, Hanover or anywhere else in Maryland, Virginia or Washington, DC.

At Freedom Mobility, we enjoy making homes more accessible for Maryland seniors. Handicare Stairlifts have been produced and installed for more than 125 years. Handicare’s innovations have created some of the most comfortable, safe and quiet stairlifts. With a stairlift from Freedom Mobility, you will have independence with contemporary design and maximum safety for a price that will certainly appeal to you.
How a Stairlift Works
A stairlift is a combination of two elements: a chair and a track that guides the chair. The track attaches to the stairs, not the wall, and can be placed on either side of the staircase. Prior to installation, we need to take measurements of your staircase to order a custom-cut track. Once installed, the stairlift can be activated with a push of a button on your wireless remote control. A stairlift can be powered by either electricity or batteries, both of which ensure steady operation and smooth ascent or descent.
Stairlifts can take you up and down your stairs effortlessly in safety and comfort—like a personal elevator. Our Maryland stairlifts are safe, reliable and easy to use. They also come packed with many useful features, including:
- a comfortable chair with a padded seat and back
- a safety belt for added security
- the ability to fold when not in use
- smart sensors that detect track obstruction
- some models offer backup battery power in case of power outages
Keep in mind that not all staircases can accommodate a stairlift. Your staircase needs to be at least 29” wide to allow an average person to use the stairlift comfortably. If you have more than one flight of stairs, there are curved stairlift solutions that can make a turn, so you don’t have to get up and transfer to a different seat.
Don’t want to purchase a full Maryland stairlift system out-right? Maybe you only need a stairlift for a temporary period of time? Here at Freedom Mobility Solutions, we also offer stairlift rental services allowing you the ability to rent a quality mobility system for an affordable price. Our rental program offers the Handicare Xclusive straight stairlift system. For more information on our rental program, give us a call today for more details.
