Activities in Elkridge for People with Limited Mobility

For those who rely on a wheelchair to get around, finding things to do to fill up your weekend can be a little more challenging. The sad truth is not all businesses are up-to-par with their handicap accessibility. With this in mind, we’ve put together a quick list of some activities in Elkridge for people with limited mobility.

Medieval Times

While not exactly located in Elkridge, a short drive away is Medieval Times in Hanover, MD. This tourist attraction is not only a great event for the whole family, it’s wheelchair accessible as well. Take the whole family for dinner and a show; and root on your section’s knight to glory and fame!

Rockburn Branch Park

If you like to catch a glimpse of the local wildlife, head over to Rockburn Branch Park. The park is over 400 acres and boasts multiple amenities including areas where you can view wildlife from the comfort of the shade. Most of the developed areas of the park are handicap accessible and can even be reached by car.

Maryland Live Casino

If you’re the type who likes a bit of gambling, take a short drive over to Maryland Live Casino in Hanover, MD. This Casino is handicap accessible and a neat place to check out even if you’re not the gambling type. The lights, sounds, and vibes of Vegas are all present here, and it’s all easily accessible with a wheelchair. Might we recommend renting a motorized wheelchair for this visit? The casino is quite large and if you don’t have a motorized wheelchair it would be worth it to rent one.

Troy Park at Elkridge

While still under construction, it’s possible to visit Troy Park in Elkridge, MD to check it out. Stop by and see the overall progress of the construction between 5pm and dusk during the week or on Saturday. Currently, there is only a playground open, but if you continue to stop by you’ll start to see other amenities pop-up as well!

Arundel Mills Mall

The Arundel Mills Mall is a huge shopping mall located in Hanover, MD with a wide-variety of stores to do some window shopping and restaurants to grab a bite to eat. Some of the businesses located here worth a visit are Bass Pros Shops, Candy World (for obvious reasons), Dave & Busters, The Disney Store, or The Lego Store. To be sure you can visit all the shops, remember to call your Maryland wheelchair rental service and rent a motorized wheelchair if you don’t already own one.
